Volunteer at Reader Rock Garden (City of Calgary)

Become a City of Calgary Parks Reader Rock Stewardship Volunteer

New in the summer of 2007 is the position of the Volunteer Stewards at the Reader Rock Garden.

The goal of the program is to enhance visitor's awareness of the historical gardens by creating a friendly and helpful presence within the park.  Volunteer Stewards patrol the grounds, greet visitors, answer inquiries and record the flowers and wildlife that they observe.  Volunteers commit to a minimum of 7 three-hour shifts between May and October.

If you enjoy spending time in nature; like to garden, walk or bird-watch; take an interest in park protection and preservation; enjoy talking to the public; and are at least 16 years of age then become a Reader Rock Garden Stewardship Volunteer. It's a fun and active way to enjoy and contribute to your community and local parks!

To inquire about the program or for more information please call 3-1-1 (in Calgary) or email the Reader Rock Garden Volunteer Program
